There She Is, Again

“ But there are so many things we can choose. Maybe they seem like small things and maybe they are. But they add up. If you’re lucky, they add up to a life.”

- Mia Mckensie, These Heathens

I am arriving to this space feeling rooted, nourished, hopeful, tender, curious and grateful. It has been an expansive eight years of making big and small choices that have added up to a life I deeply love. It has not always been easy, there have been many times when I felt afraid. I have had to face myself, I am grateful to be listening to myself, trusting my inner knowing and experiencing the joy that comes from experiencing your dreams come true. If you are dreaming, or considering big or small choices, this is your invitation to do what feels true and aligned. You have nothing to lose.

In 2025, my small family made a decision to live off-grid on an 8 acres property situated in a protected forest of the upper northeast of the united states. This is the culmination of a multi-year community land project that we formed in 2020. It meant packing up and selling most of our belongings over three years, relearning skills and establishing infrastructure to support our basic needs.

I have never worked so hard in my life.

Also I have never experienced this level of belonging, peace, grounding and safety. I find myself creating new community, pushing myself into discomfort and learning in real time how to be open, flexible and agile. I feel grateful to be learning so much, returning to homeschool for our children and building a food abundant, accessible natural space to welcome our beloved communities. Daily, I feel that another way is possible and it is on its way. This choice is activating my hope for our collective future, alongside the grief, confusion and anger I feel for what we are all witnessing and experiencing.

This moment is inviting me into greater action, alignment and community. The world around us is changing drastically and without much time to process the grief, longing, fear that come with change. This choice to live in this way, working to create food, rest spaces, medicine and housing, is rooting me in my belief of using my energy in the best ways I can.

When winter arrived, my family packed up our off grid home and traveled to warmer destinations to rest, play and reconnect. For the last few months we have been traveling, spending time in nature, connecting with elders, reading and creating. I even got to participate in my first artist residency. This period of rest was clarifying, grounding and nourishing. I had much time to think about what I have to offer to the world around me, alongside this land project. I navigate the reality that I must generate access to resources so I can feed my family, keep us safely housed and pay for the building happening on this land. I also want to “work” in ways that feel aligned and connected to the worlds I want to build and live in.

As I make a return to the land, and this work I am feeling the desire to return to offering one-on one support to others.

I am returning to virtual coaching support and virtual somatic movement support. This offering is being opened to support a small number of folks to keep it sustainable and realistic for me. I am keeping it simple, if you are interested and have questions feel free to email me at kelleynicolepalmer@gmail.com.

What am I offering:

  • one on one or small group, accessible movement classes. Think yoga, breathwork, meditation, etc.

  • one on one or small collective support to help move a project or idea forward.

  • one on one support in deepening self love, joy, rest and alignment in your life.

If you would like to connect to dream into the possibilities find my calendar HERE.

I am grateful for you reading. If you know someone looking for intentional, mindful and aligned support, please share this post with them.

May you be rested, nourished, feeling cared for, open to the possibility of this collective moment.

May you know all is possible and all is coming.
